ARA Hotels & Resorts

Careers

Hospitality becomes meaningful when people believe in what they are creating together.

ARA is built around a shared belief in what hospitality should and can be.

Hospitality with purpose.

Hotels with their own character and emotional life.

Luxury expressed with confidence, warmth and humanity.

Service that is personal because it comes from people empowered to think, to care and to exercise judgement.

And businesses where commercial discipline, exceptional hospitality and responsible stewardship strengthen one another.

But none of this is created by philosophy alone.

Our Ladies and Gentlemen bring each hotel to life.

They understand the shared vision behind what we are building, the purpose that gives it meaning and the mission we accept together.

They do not simply become part of ARA.

They help shape what ARA becomes.

We therefore seek Ladies and Gentlemen who are drawn to that ambition.

People who bring their own experience, perspective, character and talent, but who recognise something of themselves in what we are trying to create.

People who want to grow.

Who want to contribute.

Who believe that excellence is never finished.

And who understand that the strongest hospitality cultures are created when individual talent is united by a shared sense of purpose.

Culture, for ARA, is the expression of what we believe through the way we lead, the way we behave and the hospitality we create together.

That is the standard we share.

And the culture we ask every Lady and Gentleman to help carry forward.

Human Capital

Talent should be cultivated, not simply employed.

We believe the strength of a hospitality organisation is inseparable from the strength of its people.

For ARA, Human Capital is therefore more than recruitment, organisation or workforce planning.

It is a commitment to recognising potential, developing capability and creating an environment in which talent can be nurtured and allowed to grow.

Every Lady and Gentleman brings something of their own.

Experience. Character. Perspective. Ambition. Potential.

We do not seek to make everyone the same.

We seek to unite individual talent around a shared purpose, supported by strong leadership and a culture in which people have the confidence and opportunity to flourish.

That means investing in learning, creating meaningful opportunities to develop and encouraging curiosity, ideas and new perspectives.

It means entrusting people with greater responsibility as their capability grows, while deliberately developing leadership from within.

Because a career should represent more than progression through positions.

It should represent growth in confidence, judgement and capability.

A greater ability to contribute.

A greater readiness to lead.

And a greater understanding of the difference you can make.

As our hotels and organisation evolve, we want our Ladies and Gentlemen to evolve with them.

Some will deepen their expertise. Some will discover strengths they did not yet know they possessed. Some will grow to become the leaders who shape the next generation of ARA.

When our people grow, ARA grows with them.

Growth, Learning & Leadership

Growth should open new possibilities.

Learning at ARA should never be confined to training.

It begins with curiosity. With the willingness to listen, to question, to experience something differently and to remain open to the continual pursuit of excellence.

We want our Ladies and Gentlemen to understand their craft deeply, while continually broadening the way they think about hospitality, people, leadership and the world around them.

Development happens through experience and exposure. Through coaching, mentoring and meaningful conversation. Through learning from colleagues whose knowledge, cultures and perspectives may be different from our own.

It happens through opportunities to move between disciplines, hotels and responsibilities. And through contributing beyond ourselves — to our colleagues, our communities and the societies of which our hotels become a part.

Because growth should deepen not only what we know.

It should deepen what we are capable of contributing.

And throughout that journey, we should retain the freedom and curiosity to ask a simple but important question:

Could there be a better way?

We believe leadership can emerge from anywhere within an organisation.

We also believe that Ladies and Gentlemen who come to ARA with high intent, a genuine commitment to service excellence and the desire to grow can, with the right leadership, coaching and opportunity, develop into exceptional leaders.

A title may define responsibility.

It does not define a person’s capacity to influence what happens around them.

Leadership begins with something deeper.

The courage to decide. The judgement to know when to listen. The empathy to understand before acting. The confidence to pursue excellence without arrogance.

The integrity to be guided by principle, particularly when the easier choice is available. The humility to continue learning. And the willingness to accept responsibility for something greater than oneself.

These are qualities that cannot simply be assigned with a title. They must be recognised, challenged, practised and developed.

Our responsibility is to see that potential in our Ladies and Gentlemen and create the conditions in which it can become something greater.

Because the future leadership of ARA should not only be found elsewhere.

It should be growing within us.

Talent Acquisition

We look first for what cannot easily be taught.

A restrained editorial expression of individual character and human potential within the ARA hospitality world

Every person who considers a future with ARA brings a different story.

Different experiences, different knowledge, different ambitions and different levels of technical capability.

We value those differences.

But we are equally interested in something less visible.

How someone thinks. How they listen. How naturally they notice others. The curiosity they bring to a conversation, the judgement they exercise and the way they respond when circumstances are not straightforward.

We look for warmth without performance, confidence without arrogance and ambition accompanied by humility.

For people who take pride in doing something well, who instinctively want to contribute and whose standards come as much from within as from what is expected of them.

Because many aspects of hospitality can be learned.

Knowledge can be acquired, craft can be developed and experience accumulates with opportunity.

The qualities that make someone naturally capable of creating meaningful hospitality often begin somewhere deeper.

Our approach to Talent Acquisition is therefore to discover the person, not simply evaluate the résumé.

We want to understand what gives someone energy, how they relate to others, what they are curious about, what they aspire to become and what they might contribute to the people around them.

Previous experience may tell us where someone has been.

It does not necessarily tell us where their potential could take them.

For some, ARA may represent a first meaningful step into hospitality. For others, it may become the next chapter of an established career.

What matters is the possibility of alignment: between individual character and our culture, personal ambition and shared purpose, natural talent and the opportunities that lie ahead.

When that alignment exists, our responsibility extends beyond selection.

It is to nurture what we recognised in the first place.

If something in the way ARA sees hospitality reflects something in you, perhaps that is where the conversation should begin.
